Today I started my full-time student teaching so I was gone for most of the day. When I got home, JT had started working on the outside of the bus to switch it up a little in the workflow. I think he did a great job painting the "blue bird" green and the rasta stripe down the side. Excited to see the rest of the exterior work come to life soon.
Also, this past weekend, we finished building the entertainment center. This thing had a lot of weird lines, it was definitely a challenge for us, but we never backed down.
We created the front pieces using a 1x4, we cut essentially a centimeter or two out of the center making the pieces 1.5" wide. Then sanded and stained them to match the rest of the stained wood. We decided to install the outlet in the top of the entertainment center for easy access and practicality. The green inside the shoe cubby holes is the same green we plan to use for the inside of the kitchen cabinets. We used 1x4's for the top stained portion and 1x3's for the rest. All the grey wood and the plywood for the shoe cubbies is all reclaimed wood.
"Which man can save his brother's soul?
Oh man, it's just self control
Don't gain the world and lose your soul
Wisdom is better than silver and gold
To the bridge
Oh, where there's a will
There's always a way
Where there's a will
There's always a way
Soul train is coming our way."
